This lesson plan is for upper KS2. As friendships start to change the conflicts and upsets that children experience can seem all-consuming. This tried and tested lesson plan offers pupils the chance to develop some problem-solving and conflict resolution skills that they can use themselves in class and in the playground. Hopefully no more spending half the afternoon unravelling the issues from lunchtime play! If you enjoy using this lesson plan please spread the word and please leave a review too.

Sometimes as KS2 pupils get towards the top of the school their relationship with the truth becomes a little more…loose. In this PSHE lesson plan children get a chance to explore truth and lies and the consequences of both. It’s not about lecturing or preaching, it’s about getting them to come to their own conclusions. This lesson plan contains straight-forward instructions, full lesson plan (no pre-planning, yay!) with activity resources plus learning outcomes and self-assessment. Simples!

Quite a few teachers have asked for some ideas for anti-bullying week so I’ve put together a lost of some simple tried and tested ideas. This isn’t a set of lesson plans but rather a springboard to get your thinking about how you could use some of the activities in your school but of course you’ll add your own flavour! As always with any PSHE-related activities it’s best to plan them as a part of a spiral programme running throughout the school but sometimes we just need a bit of a helping hand! Don’t forget to maintain that balance of knowledge, skills and understanding. Have a great anti-bullying week. Need more help? All change! Six activities to help with transition from primary to secondary school

Moving up to secondary school can be an exciting but daunting time. While the children definitely feel ready to move on they may start to have wobbles as the time draws nearer to leave primary school and move from being big fish in a small pond to tiddlers in the sea of secondary school. The following activities are designed to help children work through any fears they have and to get mentally organized for the next step in their school careers. All last around 15 minutes so you can fit them in around the school day. I hope your children enjoy them. Don’t forget to leave a review. These activities were designed by the author of Making PSHE Matter (Jessica Kingsley Publishing) http://www.jkp.com/uk/making-pshe-matter-2.html

This is a tried and tested lesson plan for KS2 (but can also work for KS1) about how unkind words can have a lasting effect. The focus is on empathy and understanding the lasting damage a throwaway phrase or action can have on people. The lesson ends with creating a bright, beautiful heart full of love! Hope you and your pupils enjoy the lesson and if they do why not let others know by leaving a review?
